about

This snarky little tune places you straight into a dark carnival the moment the intro hits. The verse carries a steady, prominent bass line which delivers us into the chorus, where a full-on circus of sarcastic, teasing lyrics are the cherry on top to the added harpsichord in the arrangement. It's stripped down slightly for the second verse, but, unlike the first verse, the harpsichord is there to stay, chiming in every measure. When the second chorus arrives, the lush, twisted arrangement is there to remain in full for the duration of the song. We're lead into the bridge through a section of "oh's," which are sung as if Giana were skipping around this carnival herself. The bridge features silly hypothetical lyrics "Maybe you might trip and fall, I'd visit at the hospital, ukulele and all," keeping the tone amusing into the final chorus and the last bout of "oh's" until the accompaniment falls into chaotic pieces as the song comes to a close.

lyrics

LYRICS:
Do you have the bite to match the bark? The last I checked, your work wasn't quite remarkable, and I haven't seen your name in lights, but somehow you think that you know just how to hit the bullseye.

You know I'll grin and try to act polite, but you can see the fire roaring in my eyes. It's burning bright. Congratulations! I owe it all to you. I hope you think the likes were worth it when the truth shines through.

(chorus)
I hope you're happy, but I also hope you die soon. Oh, I'd sing a little tune. I hope there's room to throw a pretty rose upon your tomb. Oh, sorry, is this rude? You kinda put me in the mood to see you get screwed. Are you happy, baby boy?

You acted out of spite. It left a mark. Tried to push me in the dirt, but here I am with a clean, fresh start. No longer weighted - my story feels brand new. I hope you think the fights were worth it when the truth shines through.

(chorus)

Maybe you might trip and fall. I'd visit at the hospital, ukulele and all. I'd sing a cutesy little song about how I hope you're happy after all, and as they kick me out, I'll still be singing...

(chorus)
